Baby Squirrels

When Grandma Lisa and Papa Bob came to baby-sit a few weekends ago, they brought along the baby squirrels they are fostering. They were actually much cuter than I would have imagined! Spencer thought it was the best thing ever to hold them, while Alex was more reserved and preferred to watch. Luckily, the babies only had an accident on Papa Bob!

This about sums it up – Alex (are you sure about this) and Spencer (wow)

Sleepover

Alex has been asking for a while when he can sleep in our bed. He’s never spent longer than 5-10 minutes in our bed after wandering to our room in the middle of the night. For some reason though, he’s been begging to sleep in our bed. Tim had to work out of town Monday night, so I told Alex he could have a sleepover in my bed. He was SOO EXCITED! I told him to bring whatever he wanted to my bed while I was singing to Spencer. I came into the room to find his pillow and about 10 stuffed animals! He ended up sleeping like a champ … I did not! It was an adventurous night, but I loved it!

This is how Alex fell asleep.

The next morning … notice my pillow is halfway off the bed!

Roasting Hotdogs!

Now that the weather has been nice, we’ve been spending a lot of time outdoors. Alex has been throwing a bunch of twigs in our fire pit and pretending to build fires lately. So, Tim surprised him one Sunday afternoon and built a fire. I had some hotdogs in the fridge, so we founds some roasting sticks and let Alex cook dinner. Both boys devoured their supper! Smores are next (we didn’t have marshmallows this night)!

Alex thought he was so cool!

Spencer really enjoyed having Alex cook dinner for him.

Spencer would walk around and roast his bites on his fork.

Alex said he was going to eat his hotdog “like Daddy”. He squirted mustard on one end, then bit the other end. Too funny.

My Crazy Life

Just a hodge-podge of photos to show how crazy life can be with these two fun-loving, super creative, adventurous, never-sitting-still boys!

A favorite game these days – dump out the laundry (dirty or clean) and wear the basket.

These baskets are also great hug snatchers!

Water cannons can’t get you wet with a bucket on your head.

This happened while I was folding clothes in my room. Guess there are worse things they could have been up to…

Alex was supposed to be in time-out. Spencer thinks time-outs are the best things ever, so he joined in.

Not a very productive afternoon on the see-saw.

Gingerbread House

Do you remember the Doozers? They were the little green guys that loved to build in Fraggle Rock. I think the Fraggles liked to eat the Doozers’ creations. Well, there is a new animated show based on those Doozers, starring 4 kid Doozers who love to invent things. This has inspired Alex to create and invent and overall wow us with some of his ideas … but that’s another blog post. His favorite Doozers show is where they build a gingerbread house. It kept cracking, falling down, and getting eaten. So Alex decided he wanted to build one. We didn’t have the chance to make one over Christmas with all the sickness, so we figured, why not? We just made it with Valentine’s candy.

After placing a few hearts on the roof, Alex was content with just eating the decorations.
IMG_0334
Alex loved spreading frosting on our graham crackers (we cheated a little) and sprinkling the “flowers” in front of the house.

It was nice to spend some special time with Alex while Spencer was napping.

This pictures just keeps cracking me up.

Alex (and Kovu) were so excited to start eating the house the next day. And yes, we let Spencer eat some with us!

Potato Heads are for the Birds

I LOVE that Alex has placed his Mr. Potato Heads in the window sill the past 2 days to watch the birds eat at his feeders. He has even played with them, then placed them back on the sill, telling me they’re watching the birdies eat.

Too Cute Not To Share

Here are some cute pictures of Alex from the past week. While loading them to my computer, I decided they were just too cute not to share!

Daddy was inside the tunnel, so Alex decided he needed to be inside, too!

Sleeping

Alex was still sleeping when I went in to get him this morning. So, I took the moment to grab a picture:

Gorgeous Hair

I just have to say that Tim and I are going to be in trouble when Alex is in school. Look at this gorgeous hair!

Alex got a spa treatment today. He took a nice long bubble bath and I conditioned his hair. Then while he watched Mighty Machines, I massaged and rubbed him down with lotion – this cold air and the heater running non-stop has dried the poor thing out! I even gave him a manicure. Good thing he adores me!

So Lucky

I started my day with hugs, kisses, and Gamecock Football (we won!) …

…and ended it with a walk on the beach with my two handsome boys. How much luckier can I get?

General Alex Patton

When I showed this picture to Tim …
