Wacky Wednesday

In honor of Dr. Seuss’ birthday, Alex’s preschool had a Wacky Wednesday! Alex loved putting on crazy clothes and wearing my mom’s Dr. Seuss hat!

Alex’s Fire Fighter Gear

After the fire fighters came to Alex’s school, the boys played a lot of fire rescue around the house. I love Alex’s tactical fire gear …

Halloween 2015

Almost exactly 4 years ago, my first blog post was about Alex’s first Halloween. I may not post as often, but I’m still going strong! This is post #462! I’m proud of my work on this blog and hope you’ve enjoyed it as much as I have! Here are the links to our other Halloween posts before I start on this year’s fun:

When Aunt Beth and Unc found out we were dressing up as a Star Wars family this year, they decided to come up for the weekend and join in the fun. We had a great time carving jack-o-lanterns and trick-or-treating in our neighborhood. We were quite a hit walking around together! Beth made the costumes that she and Eric wore. I made mine and Spencer’s and we purchased Alex’s and Tim’s costumes. Tim made all the light sabers! It’s been a long process, but they turned out amazing!

Super Hero Madness

The Super Hero madness is upon us! It started with the Lego Batman game for the Wii. As Alex met more and more of the characters, he became more and more obsessed. Now, he has Batman Legos, a Superman shirt, two Batman movies (not the new ones … too dark!) and an incredible memory for all things Super Hero related! He and Daddy even created a Batcave in the sandbox over the weekend.

Halloween 2014

Want to read my very first blog post? It was Alex’s 1st Halloween … I’ve come a long way (this is post #373)! Thanks to all of you who read this blog! It helps motivate me when I know people are waiting for more pictures and details about my precious boys!

If you want to check out our other Halloween posts, here you go: Halloween 2012, Halloween 2013.

We had lots of fun this Halloween! Tim hung some Halloween lights on the PowerWheel, tucked a few beers in a cooler and attached hooks for the candy. Alex was so excited to drive him and Spencer around for Trick-or-Treating! The only disappointment for the night was that Ethan (friend from school) wasn’t trick-or-treating with him.

Now, what you’ve been waiting for …

First Halloween

Alex enjoyed a whole week of Halloween this year! The week started with a trip to Battleship North Carolina for Trick-or-Treating. This was a neat experience, especially since it was our first time on the ship. We didn't go down the ladder to the candy area, but that's probably a good thing since Mom and Dad would be the ones having to eat all the candy this year!

Our next adventure was picking out pumpkins at a pumpkin patch hosted by a church on Carolina Beach. Alex loves wearing his costume and had tons of fun playing in the hay and smacking the pumpkins. He even knew exactly which little pumpkin he wanted and reached straight for it!

Alex and I also attended the MOMS Club Halloween party. That was a lot of fun as well! Alex loved crawling around in his dinosaur costume and met a cute little boy dressed as a puppy that we hope to play with again soon. Maybe next year he'll enjoy putting his hand in the pudding "mud" to search for gummy worms and in the spaghetti noodles "brain" to look for candy, but we skipped that this year.

Our last Halloween adventure was Trick-or-Treating around the neighborhood. Grandma and Grandpa Murff came to visit for Halloween, so we left them under the house to give out candy and we took Alex out in his wagon. Alex thought the wagon ride was a lot of fun, but he wasn't so sure about knocking on strangers' door and having Mom ask for candy. It was a great week! It's so hard to believe that last year he was in my belly with a painting of a pumpkin on top of it! He's growing so fast!!
